Historical weather data displayed on this site comes exclusively from the Met Office MIDAS (Integrated Data Archive System), the official daily observation archive of the UK's national meteorological service. Data is held and distributed by the Centre for Environmental Data Analysis (CEDA).
This data is reused under the Open Government Licence v3.0 (OGL). Full licence text: nationalarchives.gov.uk/doc/open-government-licence/version/3/.

HistoClima is an independent analysis site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Met Office, CEDA or any UK government body. The Met Office and MIDAS names are used solely for attribution purposes as required by the OGL.
The explanatory texts on weather statistics pages are produced with AI (artificial intelligence) assistance from official Met Office MIDAS data. All numerical values shown on every page come exclusively from the MIDAS database and are verified by automated plausibility controls — the AI only narrates figures already present in the data; it does not estimate or invent numbers.
This disclosure is made in accordance with Article 50 of the EU AI Act (Regulation 2024/1689), applicable from 2 August 2026.
HistoClima presents official MIDAS observations for informational purposes only. We make no warranty of fitness for any specific purpose (planning, insurance, legal proceedings, etc.). For authoritative or certified climate data, consult the Met Office directly.
Station records may contain gaps or provisional readings, as noted on individual pages. Historical series length varies by station.
HistoClima does not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies or third-party analytics. We run a self-hosted, cookieless analytics system (Umami) that records only anonymised page view counts — no personal data, no cross-site tracking, no IP addresses stored beyond the request.
No personal data is collected or sold. No consent banner is required because no personal data is processed.
The page design, compilation, organisation, commentary texts and SVG charts are original works of HistoClima and are protected by copyright. The underlying weather data is Crown copyright (Met Office / CEDA) and is reused under the OGL as described above.
Citing or linking to these pages with source attribution is permitted and encouraged — it is how the site fulfils its purpose of making historical weather data citable by AI assistants and researchers.
